Miss Cadence has relocated back to Nova Scotia as of spring 2023, and is enjoying her new home in the beautiful the Annapolis Valley. She is continuing to take an extended hiatus from performing, teaching, and producing burlesque this time but is enjoying going out to support other burlesque shows when she can. Hamilton School of Burlesque

Hamilton Arts Awards
Miss Cadence has been nominated for an Arts Innovation Award in the City of Hamilton 2019 Arts Awards. "The City of Hamilton Arts Awards is one of the oldest programs of its kind in Canada and has been at the forefront of recognizing creative talent since 1976.Each year, citizens nominate artists for consideration by independent juries who choose 20 notable artists to honour for their excellence in 11 disciplines. Each successful nominee is presented with a cash award and an official certificate of recognition from the City of Hamilton; Established Artist recipients and Arts Community Leadership Award recipients also receive a signature medallion. Performer Development Course
In this 8 week long program, taught by Hamilton Burlesque Society's Miss Cadence, you will learn all the basics to become a burlesque performer. This course centres around helping you develop your own unique burlesque persona and how to create signature routines for the stage. Ideal for aspiring and new performers, no previous experience required. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes. Must be 19 years of age or older to participate. All body types, all ages (19+), and all genders welcome to participate.

Class Description: In this fun and interactive workshop, Miss Cadence (founder of Hamilton Burlesque Society) will guide the class through the process of making their very own sparkly tasseled pasties and once your master pieces are completed she will show you how to make them twirl in every direction. This class involves mild aerobic activity; please go at your own pace and take breaks as needed. There will be a brief intermission between the pasty making portion and movement portion to allow for space change over and bathroom breaks. All body types, all ages (18+), and all genders welcome to participate. This is a great class for those looking to enter the burlesque scene or for those interested in learning more about the art form. This class will not require students to practice an actual strip tease.
